Budget Friendly Blogger Friend!

I love fashion blogs of all types. I gain inspiration from most that I come across and even enjoy swooning over high end labels that other bloggers manage to work into their wardrobe. (How? I wonder) But my favorites, and it's not a surprise, are those that are thrifty and pocketbook friendly. I love a good deal and I really love seeing other peoples' good deals.

With that said, I've recently found AllForStyle.com. It's got a little bit of everything fashion related which helps to appeal to a more broad audience. My favorite part, however, are the Budget Chic posts. More recently, this post about styling the dress below three different ways. What's best, is that each version tallies up to under $100! A Little Bit Fancy

Summer finally hit us hard in SoCal this week. The recent heatwave inspired this kinda fancy/kinda casual look.

Casual Friday

If I worked in an office that implemented "Casual Friday", I'd wear this. The jacket seems pretty necessary. Has anyone ever worked in an office that wasn't cold?

I actually have those shoes in black. They're super cute and a really nice suede-like texture. I wouldn't wear them if I'm going to be on my feet all day, but really cute for minimal-walking days.

Oh! And in other news, I purchased a complete outfit as shown in one of my past posts! I've ordered it all online, and given that everything fits properly, I'll definitely be showing you guys. Any guesses as to which one I chose?

Take a Bow in Bows

That's a little tricky for a title, huh? The bow details in this were kind of accidental, but I like it. Oh, and look! Hundy&Undy colors.

In Her Natural Habitat

My real life wardrobe is really struggling lately to stay relevant. Due to my frugality, I don't replace old pieces and pick up new clothes as often as I should in order to have a fully current and versatile wardrobe. I'm working to fix this without over-spending and feeling guilty for not using my money on, say, groceries.

That being said, I went shopping at Macy's on Sunday with my husband. I had a few key pieces in my head that I was looking for, then just had the goal of keeping and open mind and trying a lot of stuff on. I did try a lot of stuff on, but only left with three items. I would have stayed longer, but the husband was growing restless. Anyway, this dress is one of the things I found!

It's the first of it's kind (the skirt/tank top in one) that I've found that flatters me. The silk tiers are flitty and fun without adding too much bulk to my hips like some tiered skirts can. I added the belt over the elastic waist to help "clean it up" a bit and create a more smooth transition between the top and the bottom.

I wore this out to lunch on Monday with my dear husband, then back to a different Macy's afterward to see if I could find the pieces I couldn't find. Those are my $8 Aldo shoes, and they proved really comfortable while buzzing around the racks for an hour or two.

Lovely Lorraine

So for whatever reason (must be the sea foam green?) this set makes me think of Lorraine, Marty's mom in Back to the Future. This dress might be too casual for the Enchantment Under The Sea dance, though.

Scratching an Itch

Today I saw a really great layered look for fall with a shirt dress and heavy belted sweater over it, and cozy thigh high socks. It gave me an itch for warm layers already and it's just barely summer! So I did a lighter version for this post.

The sweater vest is breathable with different types of stitching, and being that it has no sleeves, would hold up well in summer time. I suppose whether or not the socks are needed depends on your local weather!

Lunch at the Lake

I love this daytime look. It started with the shoes. They also come in tan, but what fun is that? The dress is breezy and simple, with the bow adding interest without being distracting. I chose a smaller, pretty necklace so as to not compete with those amazing shoes.

Day to Night

This dress is perfect for going day to night in. The pattern is bright and fun enough for day time without being too dark, yet isn't too cheery for night time. Keep the jacket in your car for when it gets chilly at night!

Hundy & Undy: An Inaugural Post

Thought process:
Inaugural --> President --> Patriotic --> Patriotic holidays --> SUMMER!

This romantic look is nice enough for a shower or casual enough for a friendly summer evening get-together. Dig into your legging stash or grab your favorite cardigan if it gets cool at night.
